Intro to Spanish will focus on beginning conversational Spanish using Total Physical Response (TPR) techniques. Monday through Wednesday will be primarily language instruction.  Thursday will be “Cultural” day, where students will learn about different Spanish-speaking countries and their cultures and customs.   The course will cover the following material:  1. The alphabet, the numbers, time, weather. 2. Greetings and salutations. 3. Gender and number-grammatical categories. 4. Adjectives. 5. Subject-verb agreement. 6. The present tense and some past and future tense. 7. Home, family and friends- identify and describe. 8. Some occupations and professions. 9. Some food and clothing. 10. Geography of the 20 countries with Spanish as their official language. 11. Common expressions and vocabulary. 12. Holidays 13. Idioms.
